On Dec 4, Intuit held an event introducing the new Cloud ProAdvisor program in Canada for it's new QuickBooks Online suite of programs.

 

It was a great event for accountants, bookkeepers, and ProAdvisors to find out more about how Intuit sees the future of accounting software as it adds Cloud based  subscription products to complement it's desktop offerings.

 

According to a survey done for Intuit, 34% of clients expect to move to the cloud during the next 12 months and that in the USA they have seen a 28% increase in their online clients against a 6.1% drop in Desktop product sale.

 

The times they are a changing! 

 

Not all clients businesses are suitable to move to the cloud however. If you have  significant inventory requirements or need project costing with labour components, then you need to stay with the desktop products.

 

For consultants, graphic artists, web designers or any service  business then QuickBooks Online will be a great fit.
